R. S. “Rusty” Ricketson, Sr., Ph.D. is a speaker and teacher both nationally and internationally in
the areas of leading/following and church growth. With a Bachelor of Social Science Education
from the University of Georgia, a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary, a Doctor of Ministry degree from Reformed Theological Seminary, and a
Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University, Dr. Ricketson has a wide range of
academic expertise. Coupled with over 40 years of ministry experience, including helping start
two churches and serving as senior pastor for 18 years, Dr. Ricketson is able to blend academic
insight with the practical application of one who has experienced ministry at the ground level.
Dr. Ricketson is currently Professor of Leadership at Luther Rice College and Seminary where
he is the coordinator of the Master of Arts in Leadership degree program. Additionally, Dr.
Ricketson serves as President of Foundation of the Faith, Inc., a ministry he founded in 2002 that
is committed to developing followers of Christ to impact the world. He is the author of two
books, “Forgive and Forgive Again,” and “Followerfirst: Rethinking Leading in the Church.”
With a dependence upon the Holy Spirit and an energetic and humorous approach, Dr. Ricketson
facilitates learning and encourages those who hear him. He and his wife, Sharon, live in north
